Product innovation
Prediktor participates in several large research projects. Brief descriptions of some projects are given below.
FME, Centre for Environment-friendly Energy Research
Prediktor is a partner in ”The Norwegian Research Centre for Solar Cell Technology”. The objective of the centre is to conduct concentrated, focused and long-term research of high international caliber in order to solve specific challenges in the field of environment-friendly energy.
Prediktor participated in the following areas:
Mono- and Multi-crystalline Silicon The main goal of this activity is to cast high quality mc Si ingots with highly reproducible microstructure and properties that can be used for the production of high efficiency solar cells.
Materials and component characterization methodology development • Development and improvement of tools and methods for materials and component characterization • Industrialization and on-line applications of different analytical measurement methods • Competence building: personnel training in characterization

MONOLOCO
MONOLOCO is a project focusing on production of low-cost wafers for high-end photo-voltaic applications.
The project is supported by the NFR (The Research Council of Norway) and is managed by NorSun AS. The overall goal for Prediktor in the MONOLOCO project is to develop a product for optimal operation of Czochralski pullers. Simplified combined multivariate and physics based models for quality prediction and control will be developed. The models will be used in a model-based predictive quality control algorithm during the Czochralski process. The new control algorithm will lead to improved key performance indicators such as better crystal quality, reduced cycle time, and increased growing yield.
